Is it already the 10th of the month? Time for Mer's 10 on the 10th. In honor of Valentine's Day, I'm going to share my 10 favorite romance movies. In no particular order, they are:
1. Pride & Prejudice (Focus Films version). I know, it's not exactly true to the book. Still, I think it's a beautifully made film.
2. When Harry Met Sally. The original chick flick.
3. Sleepless in Seattle. Witty and charming, and a great cast to boot.
4. You've Got Mail. The reunion of Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan was definitely worth the wait.
5. Sweet Home Alabama. Patrick Dempsey and Josh Lucas. *swoon*
6. While You Were Sleeping. I love this movie as much for the supporting cast as for the lead actors.
7. Fireproof. What a love story should be.
8. The Philadelphia Story. No romance film list is complete without Cary Grant. I adore this movie!
9. Adam's Rib. Classic Kate Hepburn.
10. Pillow Talk. Classic Doris Day.
Do you have any faves that I've missed? Be sure to visit Meredith to check out the other entries.

Fun list. While you were sleeping is my favorite from this list. I agree with you, the supporting cast is just as good as the lead roles...they're all funny!
My list would probably read exactly the same!
Great list! I would add Everafter, with Drew Barrymore. I love that movie!
You've Got Mail is my favorite--I enjoyed reading your list. Adam's Rib is the only one I've never seen--I'll have to check it out.
My list would include your #3,4,5,6 and I would add Return to Me (another film where the supporting actors make the movie) and A Walk in the Clouds ...love, honor, and family. Even though Keaneau Reeves is a rather emotionless actor, the story carries that fault.
The first five are definitely on my list. As is Sense and Sensibility, Anna and the King, Anne of Green Gables!
Glad you played along, Melissa!

I've seen all of them - more times than I should be able to count.
Your #1 is my all time favorite.
*swoon*
What a fun list of romance movies, Melissa! Mine would look very similar. Amen to Cary Grant! :-)
I haven't seen a few of these. Thanks for the good ideas!!
