But this year is different. I'm actually anticipating Spring. Looking forward to it. Feeling the need to open the windows, scrub the house, and play in the dirt. More than anything, I'm ready to experience new life.
I watched helplessly as our old life was torn up by its roots. I've spent the last few months allowing the Lord to cultivate the hard places of my heart in order to uncover my belief, my trust, and my hope. He's poured Living Water into my soul and nourished my faith. Now, our new life is waiting to burst forth through the fertile soil.
And I can hardly wait.
"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.Behold, I am doing a new thing;now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?"~Isaiah 43:18-19 (ESV)
P.S. - sorry I missed The Week in Words. It'll return next week!

I love Fall myself! And like you guys, here in SW Florida, you go straight from Fall to Summer!
I'm also looking forward to seeing the "new thing" the Lord has in store for you guys. Thanks for sharing this journey with us!
Our family is anticipating a new work of the Lord in our lives. We've got some things we are praying about. It's exciting!!
Melissa,
Do you know that is MY verse? I see it everywhere, all the time. Beth Moore used it at LPL in Tucson this weekend, and here you are with it too. Amazing.
All that to say, God totally spoke to me through you. (Again!)
Joanne
I think this is my first year to really LOVE Spring as well! There's just something gloriously life-giving about it!
Love it! (And I'm a fall/winter kind of gal myself!) Now I'll include spring. I probably shouldn't say 'never' but I doubt I'll ever truly enjoy summer.=)
Like Carrie, I do NOT enjoy summer. Like you, I am eagerly anticipating the NEW THING He is doing in your life and heart! He is faithful! He is Life! Behold, He makes all things new!
Oh, I could have written this post myself! Driving in the country today I saw groves of trees with big snow piles all around, yet it was 84 degrees out. How does that work?
Happy Easter!
I'm a fall/winter gal, too. I love cold weather! And I seem to have attitude issues with summer the past two years. I am reminding myself daily about the blessings in EACH day - warm, cold, snow, rain.....it's all God and it's all Good. Hugs, sweet friend!
