I'm still reading "A Woman After God's Own Heart" by Elizabeth George. I'm drinking it in during my quiet time. She stirred my heart today. Quoting her husband, Jim:
With every encounter, make it your aim that people are better off for having been in your presence. Try in every encounter to give something to the other person.
How different my family...my world...would be if I put this into practice.
That is a FABULOUS book...Elizabeth George is one of my favorites...as a matter of fact I am doing a devotional/book study with her for part of my quiet time. It is called "Finding God's Path Through Your Trials"...it is amazing!
Melissa, this is such a great book as well as "A Mom after God's Own Heart". Her books are so full you certainly have to read a chapter and let it sink in before going ahead. Enjoy!

Amen! It's on my shelf.... I think I need to dust it off :) God bless!

I have been convicted lately (by my hubs) that my mood has been sullen. My family has felt it, I have felt it.
I don't want to pass that on to other people. I want to be a blessing.
Thank you for these gentle words.

I love your blog, by the way.
I am going to have to put that book on my list! What a incredible prayer before I am going to "hang out" with a friend!
I read this book six or seven years ago and it still impacts the way I think about serving my family.
