I've heard this same discussion at MOPS after the same guy spoke there.
My daughter's have friends over--one at a time. And they've slept over--one at a time. The only group things we do are Girl Scout camp and I'm in charge (and strict!) there.
I have great sleepover memories, but have heard some horror stories that make me think twice!
For groups, I think I prefer a pajama party where everyone comes, hangs out way past bedtime, and then goes home at 10.
Honestly, I think it's a case-by-case decision made with lots of prayer and knowing the parents (and siblings) involved is always a must.
Personally, I think if it's gonna happen at a sleep-over, it's gonna happen in other situations eventually, too. Hopefully I've equipped my kids enough to know how to react when put in situations like that. And, if you can't trust the parents of the household you're sending your kids to then that seems to be a separate issue all together. Why send them?
My girls are allowed to have sleepovers, and do so almost weekly.
However, we are very specific about where they can and cannot stay, and also pray for discernment in this very area. At their age we are all still tucking them in, and they have adult supervision, but as they are older we may choose to limit time away from home, if there is too much unsupervised time.

Definitely something to think about.
